What is a Super 8 wedding film?
Super 8 is an 8 mm motion picture film format introduced in the 1960s. The camera records frame by frame onto real film, which is then developed and scanned. The result is natural grain, warm colours and a 4:3 frame – the feel of family films from decades ago.
A single Super 8 cartridge holds only about 2.5–3 minutes of footage, so every shot is deliberate. The result is a short, emotional film that feels like a memory.
We shoot on KODAK VISION3 200T – part of the same family of motion picture film stocks used on feature films. It gives fine grain, wide latitude and beautiful, warm colour, from golden hour to a candlelit reception.
